Marrakech
Marrakech is an oasis.
From Fez, the road takes you via Azrou, a Berber village known for its handicrafts, through the wooded and mountainous region.
Known as the Pearl of the South, Marrakech is Morocco’s cultural centre and home to many spectacular architectural treasures. Among those you will explore are the Saadians’ tombs, the Koutoubia tower, the Bahia Palace and the Menara Gardens.
Spend the afternoon exploring the colourful souks (markets) and the Diemaa El Fna square, the heart of the old city. Keep a keen eye out for fine leatherwork and the entertainment – expect anything from acrobats to snake charmers! In the evening, nothing can beat dinner (DIFFA FANTAZIA) under caidal tents in the famous restaurant, Chez Ali. Live folklore bands from different Moroccan regions will entertain you.
Should you have any energy left, spend the morning exploring the rest of Marrakech before beginning the trip back to Casablanca.
Morocco is so diverse that it is difficult to capture the overall feeling of the country – which in turn, is one of its greatest charms!
