It is easy to get lost in Venice, that can be part of the charm or something of an irritation. A small hint: If you do not enjoy being lost, most every corner will have, stencilled on a building, a picture of a steam railway engine and an arrow – indicating the way to Piazza Santa Lucia, the railway station, or an arrow showing the direction of Piazza San Marco.
