Istanbul
In former incarnations, Istanbul was known as Byzantium and Constantinople. With over 3000 years of history, this marvelous city is sure to enthrall even the most well-versed traveller.
Istanbul is truly Eurasian, divided in two by the Bosphorus Strait. European Istanbul, in the west, comprises the bulk of the city, with the predominately residential Asian Istanbul to the east.
The Golden Horn further divides Istanbul into the Old City of Sultanahmet to the south, and the more modern districts to the north.
There is a real danger of sensory overload with such a myriad of sights and sensations.
