A week in the Sporades.
It is necessary to have the night prior, and the night after, in this itinerary in Athens owing to the early departure on Day 1 and the late return on Day 8.

Day 1  Athens to Skiathos
Travel by bus to the port of Agios Konstantinos where your bus arrival connects with the high speed ferry to Skiathos Island. On arrival at the island our local representative will be waiting at the port holding a sign bearing your name. Transfer to the PLAZA HOTEL

Days 2-4 Skiathos (B)
Known for the golden beaches, the lush green hinterlands and great holidays, Skiathos is one of the most popular islands in Greece. Visit the most famous beaches Koukounaries, Agia Paraskevi and Kanapitsa. Explore the green island and discover some of the interesting monasteries. In the evening stroll the waterfront in Skiathos Town choosing your evening meal and entertainment from one of the many restaurants and bars.

Day 5  Skiathos to Skopelos (B)
Our local car will transfer you back to the port for the short ferry ride to Skopelos. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel.

Days 6 & 7 Skopelos (B)
The Telegraph newspaper asks “ Is Skopelos the perfect Greek Island” and we would reply with an enthusiastic “YES!”. From your arrival in the picturesque port you will be enchanted by this magical place.

Day 8  Skopelos to the mainland and beyond (B)
Return by ferry to Agios Konstatinos to join the bus to Athens or elsewhere in Greece.

Skiathos

Famous for golden beaches and green wooded slopes, Skiathos is among the most popular islands of Greece with a busy airport bringing in holidaymakers from the major European towns. Consequently there are many tavernas, restaurants pubs and a lively nightlife in the main town. Most Skiathos beaches, including the famous bay of Koukounaries, on the southern side of the island,  are organized with umbrellas, sunbeds, watersports centres and boat rental. Beaches on the northern side are secluded and clothing optional. Boats can be rented to make the tour of the island. Visit the lovely beach of Lalaria, accessible only by boat trip that also goes to the Medieval Castle of the island. The Town is the centre of activities on the island, where visitors head in the evenings to enjoy a relaxing drink. From Skiathos ferries run to Skopelos and Alonissos, the other islands of Sporades, the timetables allowing for day trips.

Skopelos

Mid way between Skiathos and Alonissos, Skopelos is a stunning get-away-from-it-all island. Virtually unknown outside of Greece until the movie MAMMA MIA was filmed there in 2008. The little church of Agios Ioannis Kastri is known world-wide as the Mamma Mia Church (see title photo). On the island you will find many lovely beaches with crystal clear water and two pretty little hill top towns – Chora & Glossa. Access from Athens is not straight forward and we recommend several days on the island due to the difficulty of getting here.

 

Alonissos

Another green wooded island with stunning beaches and somewhat difficult access, Alonissos could be the off-the-beaten-track island that you are looking for. There are pretty little traditional villages dotted throughout the island. For a multi island holiday including Alonissos, it is best combined with Skopelos and/or Skiathos.
